The Product Ladder: Creating Revenue at Every Level of Audience Investment

Every customer who buys from you is 3–5× more likely to buy again. Build what they buy next.

The product ladder is the architecture that transforms individual product sales into a sustainable creator business. Rather than offering one product at one price, you build a structured range of offers — each one serving buyers at a specific level of commitment and investment, each naturally leading to the next higher level.

The economic logic is compelling: a buyer at any price point is 3–5× more likely to purchase again from you than a non-buyer. The most important moment in your product ecosystem is the first purchase — not because of the revenue it generates but because of the relationship status it creates. Every subsequent purchase is easier to generate than the first.

The Five-Rung Ladder:

Rung 0 — Free Lead Magnet: The entry point. Quality here predicts everything downstream. A disappointing free resource produces disengaged subscribers who don't advance up the ladder. An exceptional one produces enthusiastic buyers eager for your next offer.

Rung 1 — Tripwire ($17–$47): The buyer-conversion product. The goal is not revenue — it is crossing the psychological threshold from prospect to customer. Buyers buy again. Subscribers may not.

Rung 2 — Core Product ($97–$297): Your flagship. 60–70% of total product revenue lives here. Price to the value of the outcome delivered, not the hours of content included.

Rung 3 — Premium Programme ($497–$2,000): Core content plus live coaching, community access, direct support. Higher-touch delivery justifies premium pricing. Converts buyers who want faster results and personal attention.

Rung 4 — High-Ticket ($3,000–$25,000): 1:1 coaching, mastermind, or intensive. Five clients at $5,000 = $25,000. Your expertise commands extraordinary rates when delivered as direct personal access.
